Spain rejects Paya case

The judge of the National Court, Spanish main criminal court, Eloy Velasco, decided to reject the admission of this complaint with the lack of competence of the Spanish Justice. The magistrate thus endorsed the opinion of the prosecutor Teresa Sandoval, who had recommended not to admit the complaint filed by the wife and daughter of opposition leader, Ofelia Acevedo and Rosa Maria Paya against Cuban security officials.
Dissident Paya and Harold Cepero died July 22, 2012 when the vehicle they were traveling in and led the young Spanish conservative politician Angel Carromero crashed into a tree. Cuba Carromero was sentenced to four years in prison for involuntary manslaughter before being repatriated to Spain where he is serving his sentence in semi-liberty. Upon his return, Carromero said the crash was caused by "Cuban security agents. Source

The dignity of the Paya family

The circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Cuban dissident Oswaldo Paya be enlightening as a complicated puzzle whose pieces finally fit.
There have been many obstacles that both the Cuban government and the Spanish have been on the road , in order that you never know the truth of what killed the leader of the Christian Liberation Movement (MCLG and Harold Cepero opponent also . No However , thanks to the tenacity of the family Paya, a subsequent revelations of Angel Carromero , the young Spanish politician who was driving the day of the strange car accident on a highway in the province of Oriente, and the solidarity of a handful of Popular Party politicians
that departed from the official line , it is clear that what was intended to disguise freak accident may well be from the onslaught of a political police car , which ended up causing the death of the most relevant figure of Cuban dissidents .
Everyone knows that Carromero was charged with manslaughter , and therefore he was held on the island before returning to Spain to serve the remainder of his sentence on probation .
We all know ,too, that during his imprisonment in Havana Castro government released a video of the representative of New Generations of PP -style self-incriminating recordings that the hostages are often subjected . And everyone knows that in this show trial is denied access to the families of the victims.
Amidst the lies and slanders expressed by the Cuban authorities and the ominous silence of the Spanish , the widow , sons and brothers Paya refused to stand as a charge against Carromero , certain that he too was a victim of a political stunt
that prevented an independent investigation.
Today , a year after that fateful July 22 , Carlos Paya, one of the brothers Oswaldo who lives in Madrid and is a member of the MCL , has revealed to the journalist Rocio Galvan World that same evening in which family and friends said goodbye to his brother at a Mass in Madrid church of Navarre San Fermín , the Secretary of State for International Cooperation for Latin America, Jesús Gracia , met with him , says Carlos , ask something that is denied "

strongly " that accused Carromero family , and that would facilitate their release within 72 hours and change the Paya be compensated.
I remember the night that we learned of the death of Paya and the following days, unable to get clear answers from the government of Rajoy. I remember the indignation of Regis Iglesias, disciple of Oswaldo and his right hand in Spain . I remember well the atribulación Charles , seeking justice done by his brother while under pressure from his words , and then I knew what about text messages that Carromero companion in the vehicle , the Swede Aron Modig , was sent abroad ( in which he allegedly told they had been rammed ) not detrimental to Spanish , hoping he was released early.
As Carlos Paya said in the interview, as directed by the dome of the PP to not hamper Carromero output , silent for months. But neither he nor Ophelia, Oswald 's wife , nor his daughter, Rosa Maria Paya activist , would have never given to a proposal that would have undermined forever the true circumstances that killed the two opponents. Carromero himself argues that the hospital staff came to tell him aware Paya came to the health center , which contradicts the official version that he died on the spot.

What most baffles Carlos Paya is that , even though Carromero already in the country and has been commissioned to tell their own version of what happened , the government has done nothing to uncover manipulation and blackmail of the Havana.
Those known for years to Paya, a family of Democrats with strong values , do not doubt that counts Carlos . Another very different thing is the alleged Spanish executive agreements with the Castro dictatorship . It happens when politicians put the interests of the principles . No one can snatch Paya family dignity. Sadly , others can not say the same.
